On November 24, 2019, members from the Manitoulin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police responded to a theft of an All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV) at a residence on Lacloche Lake road in the Township of Sables-Spanish Rivers, Ontario. Sometime between November 20 and November 24, 2019, a red 1995 Polaris Explorer 400 ATV, possibly bearing Ontario licence #PW962, was stolen. Attached was a 5×8 utility trailer with an oversized scrim and no tailgate, which was also stolen. Any person with information regarding the person(s) responsible for this incident should immediately contact the Ontario Provincial Police at 1-888-310-1122 or their nearest police authority.

On November 26, 2019, at approximately 5:52 p.m., members from the Manitoulin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police responded to a threats complaint in Little Current, Ontario. Information was received that Samantha MILLER, 40 years of age, uttered death threats and destroyed property. The accused was arrested and charged with the following: Uttering threats – to cause death or bodily harm and Mischief under $5000. The accused was released on a Promise to Appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Gore Bay on January 22, 2020.

On November 27, 2019, at approximately 1:01 a.m. a member of the Manitoulin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police initiated a vehicle stop in the Township of Sables-Spanish Rivers, Ontario. Further investigation revealed that the driver and the passenger were in possession of suspected controlled substances and weapons. The officer seized a quantity of suspected oxycodone, heroin and crystal meth, a knife and some cell phones. Officers arrested and charged: Amelia ABITONG, 25 years old, of the Sagamok Anishnawbek First Nation, Ontario; and Justin SOLOMON, 36 years old, of the Sagamok Anishnawbek First Nation, with the following: Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – Heroin, Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – other drug, Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – Opioid (other than Heroin), Possession of weapon for a dangerous purpose. The accused were released on a Promise to Appear and are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Espanola on December 16, 2019.
